Data Centre Cabling
Top-of-rack, end-of-row, and structured-cabling installs for colocation cages and on-prem data centres.
Overview
Data-centre cabling demands a different discipline from office structured cabling: density is higher, downtime is more expensive, and cable management directly affects airflow and PUE. Our DC team is BICSI-led and works to the rack-level conventions your colo provider expects — full-depth cabinets, hot-aisle / cold-aisle segregation, and labelling schemes that map cleanly into your DCIM.
We deliver pre-terminated MPO trunks for top-of-rack scenarios, fusion-spliced LC cassettes for end-of-row, and high-density CAT6A / CAT8 copper runs for storage and out-of-band management. Patching is done with length-matched leads to keep the front face clean and airflow unobstructed; rear cable management uses dedicated vertical organisers and brush-plate floor entries.
For colo cage builds we handle the full lifecycle: cabinet specification and procurement, cage construction, cable infrastructure, intelligent PDU rollout, and DCIM-ready as-built documentation. For on-prem data-centre refurbs we plan phased migrations so the live load stays online while the new infrastructure comes up alongside it.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you work in colocation facilities?
- Yes — we routinely deliver cage builds and rack moves at Equinix, Telehouse, Digital Realty, Ark, and Pulsant. We submit method statements, RAMS, and engineer DBS / drug-and-alcohol records as required by each colo's onboarding pack.
- Can you re-cable a live cage without downtime?
- Yes — for high-availability environments we plan a phased migration: install the new cabling alongside the live cabling, switch one circuit at a time during agreed maintenance windows, and decommission the old cabling once everything is moved. Most refurbs are done over a series of weekend windows.
- What's your turnaround on a new cage build?
- A 10-rack cage including cabinets, structured cabling, intelligent PDUs, and as-built docs typically completes in 4–6 weeks from PO. Larger builds scale linearly. Rush builds at 2 weeks are possible if cabinet and PDU stock is available.
