4. Use of Website

4.1 Permitted Use

5. Quotations and Pricing

5.1 Quote Validity

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change based on material costs, project scope, and site conditions.

5.2 Acceptance

A quotation does not constitute a binding contract until formally accepted in writing by both parties. We reserve the right to decline any project at our discretion.

6. Service Delivery

6.1 Project Timeline

Project timelines are estimates and may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, site conditions, or client-requested modifications. We will notify you promptly of any significant delays.

6.2 Site Access

The client is responsible for providing safe and timely access to the installation site, including necessary permits, security clearances, and facilities. Delays caused by lack of access may result in additional charges.

6.3 Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate site information and requirements
  • Ensure a safe working environment
  • Remove or protect valuable items in work areas
  • Provide necessary utilities (power, lighting)
  • Coordinate with other contractors on-site

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Payment Schedule

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment terms are as follows:

  • 30% deposit upon acceptance of quotation
  • 40% upon completion of installation
  • 30% upon testing, certification, and handover

7.2 Late Payment

Invoices are due within 30 days of issue. Late payments may incur interest at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, as permitted by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

8. Warranty and Liability

8.1 Workmanship Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of project completion. This warranty covers defects in installation and workmanship but does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse or neglect
  • Modifications made by third parties
  • Force majeure events

8.2 Manufacturer Warranties

Structured cabling systems installed according to manufacturer specifications carry a 25-year system warranty from the manufacturer. Equipment and materials carry manufacturer warranties as specified.

8.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total fees paid for the specific project. We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Loss of data or corruption of data
  • Third-party claims

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, designs, and software, is the property of The Cabling Team Ltd or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

10. Insurance and Indemnity

10.1 Our Insurance

We maintain appropriate levels of:

  • Public Liability Insurance (£10,000,000)
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance (£5,000,000)
  • Employers' Liability Insurance

10.2 Client Indemnity

The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Cabling Team Ltd from any claims, damages, or losses arising from:

  • Inaccurate information provided by the client
  • Failure to provide safe site access
  • Third-party claims related to client-requested modifications
  • Violations of applicable laws by the client

11. Health and Safety

We are committed to maintaining the highest health and safety standards. We comply with all applicable UK health and safety legislation, including:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Working at Height Regulations 2005

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by Client

The client may terminate a project with 14 days written notice. The client will be liable for:

  • All work completed to date
  • Materials ordered and non-refundable costs
  • Reasonable termination fees (not exceeding 25% of remaining contract value)

12.2 Termination by Company

We may terminate a contract immediately if:

  • Payment is overdue by more than 30 days
  • The client breaches material terms
  • Site conditions make work unsafe or impossible
  • The client enters insolvency or administration

13. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, war, terrorism, strikes, government actions, or pandemics.

14. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential all non-public information disclosed during the course of the project. This obligation survives termination of the contract for a period of 3 years.

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Negotiation

In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good faith negotiations.

15.2 Mediation

If negotiation fails, the parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing litigation.

15.3 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any written quotation or contract, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Cabling Team Ltd and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
