Electrical & Data Cabling
Combined power-and-data installations for offices, retail, and warehousing — one contractor, one schedule, one snag list.
Overview
Most office fit-outs need both 13A power and structured cabling delivered to the same desk locations. Booking two contractors typically means two surveys, two schedules, two access requests, and a snag list that bounces between them. We deliver both workstreams under a single project plan, with NICEIC-approved electricians and CAT6 / fibre engineers on the same team.
Typical scope: 13A unswitched power outlets at each desk position, dressed into floor-box or wall-mount faceplates alongside the data points; ring-main extensions or new dedicated circuits where the existing distribution board can't support the load; emergency lighting and EPO upgrades for comms rooms; and full Part P certification with electrical installation certificates issued at handover. Data and power are run in separate containment to maintain EMC integrity.
For retail and hospitality we handle EPoS-grade cabling — clean power for till lanes, surge-protected outlets for printers and card readers, and CAT6 to each lane with documented colour-coded patching at the comms cabinet. Multi-site rollouts use a standardised per-store install pack so your operations team gets a predictable result every time.
Frequently asked questions
- Are your electricians NICEIC approved?
- Yes — every electrical job is led by an NICEIC-approved electrician and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) at handover, signed by the qualified supervisor. We also hold ECS Gold cards for site access on construction projects.
- Can you work alongside our fit-out contractor?
- Yes — we routinely work as the M&E sub on fit-outs led by Overbury, Modus, Oktra, ISG, and similar. We attend coordination meetings, submit RAMS to the principal contractor, and integrate with the project programme.
- Do you handle the distribution board upgrade if it's needed?
- Yes. If the existing DB doesn't have spare ways or the load profile needs upgrading, we'll quote the DB upgrade on the survey. For older fuseboards we recommend a metal consumer unit replacement to BS 7671 Amendment 3.
